After getting dos box installed and unzipping the contents of Lotus123 to say c:\Lotus123 on your local machine, are you mounting the directory from DOS box by running
mount c:\ c:\Lotus123
then keying in c:
once you are in the c:\ from DOS box which is your Local workstations c:\Lotus123 you should be able to run the lotus installer.
