What is Komando Community?

What Happened to Kim’s Club?

Komando Community IS the new Kim’s Club. We upgraded the experience and added some new features. If you were a Kim’s Club member when we made the switch your membership hasn’t changed, your login and password are the same and the price is the same. Login here to enjoy the new features.

How do I get a free membership?

We do offer free memberships! There is 2 ways to get one. The first is to participate in the Komando Ambassador program. It’s basically a refer a friend link for our newsletters and you get points based on how many people sign up. Click here to start earning points. The second way is to be a moderator for the Komando Community or The Kim Komando Show Facebook Group. You can apply to be a moderator here.

How do I get a discount?

We offer a discounted rate for Seniors and Service Personnel on Annual Memberships. It’s applied during check out, all you have to do is click the yellow button that says “Claim special service personnel/senior annual discount”. If you are at the age of 50 and older you qualify for the Senior Rate. If you are in the United States military, police or fire profession you qualify for the Service Personnel Rate. We thank you for your service and appreciate all you do for our country. If you are already a member and would like to apply the discount please call us to update your account at 1-800-KOMANDO (566-2636).

Please be aware we do complete random validation checks. If you are found to not qualify for the special rate based on our guidelines but have signed up for this rate your account will be upgraded to the regular rate without advance notice. No refunds will be given.

If I’m a Techie member, can I change to a Pro membership?

Yes you can, you can change your membership level at any time. Click here to go to your membership management page and then click the “Change” link below your membership level. Your membership will be prorated and you will only be charged the difference in price.

Can I change my membership from Pro level to Techie?

Yes you can, you can change your membership level at any time. No refunds will be given if you downgrade before the end of your term. Click here to go to your membership management page and then click the “Change” link below your membership level.

What are my membership options?

We have a social based membership level we call Techie, with it you can make friends and interact with them and comment on Blogs. Our Pro level is basically an all access pass to everything available on Komando Community. See a full list of benefits for each membership here.

I’m 49 and a half, will my membership switch to the senior discount when I turn 50?

Sorry, we don’t keep track of your birthday so we don’t have a way to tell the system to switch your membership. Call us to change your level as soon as you qualify for our senior/service personnel discount at 1-800-KOMANDO (566-2636) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Arizona Time, Monday through Friday.

How do I qualify for the Senior or Service Personnel Discount?

If you are at the age of 50 and older you qualify for the Senior Rate. If you are in the United States military, police or fire profession you qualify for the Service Personnel Rate. How do I become a Komando Community member?

You sign up! Click this link to get started. You can join the community anytime online or call our Customer Care Experts who are available to sign you up over the phone at 1-800-KOMANDO (566-2636) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Arizona Time, Monday through Friday.

I received my introductory email. How do I start my Komando Community membership?

The email includes a few ways to get started. We recommend first setting up your profile with as much or as little detail as you want to provide. Then if you want to be social browse the groups and join some. Start blogging on any topic that interests you. If you’re a Pro member you can catch up on episodes of The Kim Komando Show or download one of Kim’s eBooks and start reading. Go to your profile here and use the menu on the left to navigate you through all the features of the site.

I have my account and profile set up. How do I log into my Komando Community account?

There are several ways to sign in. You can click here and login now. If you are on Komando.com, look at the black bar at the top of Komando.com. To the right, you’ll see a “Sign in” button. If you are on the Komando Community in the top right there is a yellow button that says Login, you can login there. If you are not logged in to the Komando Community, you can click on almost any feature on the left menu and you will be prompted to login. If you have trouble logging in please call our Customer Care Experts at 1-800-KOMANDO (566-2636) or contact customer care here.

I joined for Komando Community but didn’t get an email

Check all your email folders to make sure it’s not hiding somewhere in your spam or junk mail folders. If you use Gmail, click here for more directions.

Can I place my membership on hold?

I’m going to be traveling, will I still be able to login even though I’m not at home?

How can I change my password?

Log into your account and access your profile, you can click this link to go directly there. Locate your profile navigation just below your cover photo (Wall, Profile, Notifications, Etc) and click the 3 dots on the right, click settings and you will be taken to your profile settings page. Here is where you update your password.

I forgot my password. What do I do?

Oh no! We’ll help you reset it. You can click here to reset it or if you go to login anywhere on Komando Community, click the forgot password link and it will walk you through the steps to reset it. Either way you will receive an email with a link to reset it to make sure your email inbox is handy.

How can I change my screen name?

It’s easy, you go to your profile page. You can click here to get there. You’ll see your profile navigation bar right below your cover photo (Wall, Profile, Notifications, Etc), click on Profile. Then click Edit, the top field labeled Name(required) is where you change your screen name. Click save at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

I’m switching to a new email address. How can I update my Komando Community account?

Log into your account and access your profile, you can click this link to go directly there. I moved and my billing address is now different. How do I change it on my account?

Log in to your Komando Community account, in the top right you will see an icon with your profile photo. If you hover over that a drop down menu will appear. Click on My Membership. Once there, click on Update Billing Info. You can update any billing information, including credit card number, address and email address.

I have a dial-up connection. Can I still use Komando Community?

Yes, a dial-up connection will give you longer download times for podcasts or ebooks but you will still be able to access the community.

How do I log out of Komando Community?

On the Komando Community site you will see a yellow button in the upper right corner that says log out. Click it to log out.

How do I update my privacy settings?

You can show as little or as much about you as you want. Login and go to your profile by clicking the My profile menu item on the left, then click Edit. Right under each field you will see the text “This can be seen by:” and an edit button. Click the edit button to change who can see that information about you.

How do I renew my membership?

Your membership with renew automatically either monthly or annually at the same rate you signed up at. If your card has expired or is no longer valid, go to your profile to update your billing information. Log in to your Komando Community account, in the top right you will see an icon with your profile photo. If you hover over that a drop down menu will appear. Click on My Membership. Once there, click on Update Billing Info. You can update any billing information, including credit card number, address and email address.

You can also call to update your card information at 1-800-KOMANDO (566-2636) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Arizona Time, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).

How do I cancel my Kim’s Club membership?

You must cancel your membership by phone with one of our customer service reps. (Sorry, we are unable to process termination requests by email.) Call our Customer Service number at 1-800-KOMANDO (566-2636) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Arizona Time, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).

How can I watch The Kim Komando Show using a stand-alone streaming player such as Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast or Xbox One?

There’s 2 options:
It can be cast to your TV with Chromecast or Apple Airplay. You will want to log in to your Komando Community account on a computer, tablet or phone and start to watch the show (click here to go directly to the show page). If you have casting enabled and a cast compatible TV an icon will appear in the bottom right of the video player. Click or Tap it to select which device you want to cast it to. Both the device you are watching the video on and your TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.

You can stream it from your Computer, Laptop, Tablet or Phone to your TV with an HDMI cord. You will want to log in to your Komando Community account on a computer, tablet or phone and start to watch the show (click here to go directly to the show page). Then you connect the HDMI cord to the output of your device and to the HDMI Input on your TV.

I am a current Kim’s Club member and want to know how my membership changed and how it will work in the new program (launched June 2019)?

The Komando Community IS the new Kim’s Club. We’ve added more features and benefits for members. You can still watch and listen to The Kim Komando Show anytime. You’re login is still the same as it was for Kim’s Club.

How do I watch Kim live?

You’re already halfway there. The live recording of the show is streamed live every Friday starting around 12:15 p.m. Arizona time. You go to the Watch page to watch it or you can click this link here. Once the show is streaming it will show on that page and that’s how you watch it. You have to be a Pro level member to watch the show. Can’t make it Friday, watch the stream again on Saturday starting at 7 a.m.

When can I watch The Kim Komando Show?

The Kim Komando Show is recorded every Friday starting around 12:15 p.m. Arizona time. That’s 12:15 Pacific, 1:15 Mountain, 2:15 Central and 3:15pm Eastern.
You can also watch the streaming of the show on Saturday’s starting at 7 a.m. Arizona time. That’s 7 Pacific, 8 Mountain, 9 Central and 10 Eastern.
Tune in to both from the Watch page here. You must be a Pro level user to watch the show.

I’m having trouble watching the show or other video content on the site using the Chrome browser. What do I have to do?

Re-enabling Flash for the Komando site:

Having trouble watching the show? It could be an issue with your Flash player. Unfortunately, some web browsers are now blocking Flash by default and this may cause problems viewing the live stream. Luckily, fixing this issue is easy. Follow these steps to tweak the settings in Google Chrome and/or Safari.

WINDOWS USERS:

Steps for re-enabling Flash for Komando videos on Chrome:
1. In your Chrome address bar, click on the lock symbol to the left of “community.komando.com”.

2. On the next drop-down box click settings. On this list, locate “Flash”. To the right there will be a drop down menu, select “Allow”.

3. Go back to the video you were trying to watch and reload the page for the changes to take effect.

You’re all set!

MAC USERS:

To allow Flash on Safari you’ll need to turn on plug-ins for Komando Community. When you turn on a plug-in, it remains active for as long as you regularly use that plug-in on any website.

Turn on plug-ins
If you see a placeholder where the live stream video should appear, click the placeholder to learn more.

If the plug-in is installed, Safari will ask whether to use the plug-in once or every time you visit the website: Click “Use Every Time”.
Safari might also ask whether you want to trust the website to use the plug-in: Choose “Trust”.

After changing these settings, Safari should let my website use the plug-in and it won’t ask you again.

How can I listen to the Kim Komando Show podcast?

Login with your Komando Community membership to access all the podcast episodes here.

Can I download Kim’s videos?

No – the videos are available for online streaming only. Komando Community members, however, can download the podcasts, which are audio versions of the show

How do I find the Web links Kim mentions on air?

What is a podcast?

A podcast is typically an audio file that you can stream or download from the Internet and listen to on a variety of devices.

We release a podcast version of Kim’s weekly radio show available for Komando Community members.
New podcasts of the weekly radio show are available every Sunday at 7 p.m., Pacific Time.

Do I have to be a Komando Community member to hear the podcasts?

If you want to listen to The Kim Komando Show as a podcast you need to be a Komando Community Pro member. Join now to start listening to the show.

Do I have to have a portable media player to hear the podcasts?

No, they are available in MP3 format. You can download them to your computer and play them with Windows Media Player, iTunes or any other program that plays MP3 files.

How do I get the most recent Podcast?

Once you’ve logged in as a Komando Community member, click listen on the left. All of the show podcasts will be listed there with the 3 most recent a the top. Or click this link. 

How can I get your archived podcasts?

All the available podcast episodes are available right on the Listen page of Komando Community.

Can I listen to The Kim Komando Show podcast on my podcast player?

You can use any podcast app that supports adding feeds manually. On iOS this includes Apple Podcasts, Overcast, and Downcast. On Android, check out Podcast Addict, Beyond Pod, and Podcast Republic. Find the option in the podcast app of your choice to “add feed” or “add URL”.. The feed url for the show is: https://community.komando.com/feed/tkks/ Enter this along with your Komando Community username (your account email works too) and password when prompted.
