Well another adventure with an Apple product tonight. I am sitting in my car in a parking lot trying to look at my home camera feed. Next thing I know it’s says I have no internet connection (I was using cellular) and also trying to connect to my norton mobile vpn, then it comes on. All is good so I think. I get home, take my phone out and it has turned itself off and… I am unable to turn it back on after several tries. About 1-2 minutes later it turns itself on. All appears normal but is it? I have never once had this happen on my Xr phone. Is it possible the person in the car almost next to me hacked my phone somehow? If so, what do I do about it?

    Hello Jane,

Thanks for using the forums, the behavior described is expected when connecting your VPN of dropping the internet connection for a moment and then the internet connection being restored after the VPN connects. If you believe you tech has been hacked you can try using iVerify to see if it detects anything malicious or out of the ordinary.

If you want to be safe it is never a bad idea to perform a factory reset by using the following procedure after baking up any important data stored on the phone.

    1. Open Settings > General
    2. Now tap Reset
    3. Select “Erase All Content and Settings“
    4. Tap “Erase iPhone” on the prompt
    5. Enter your Apple ID password then tap “Erase” to begin the factory reset process
