Background Chrome use on Android
My wife (Pixel 7) and I (Pixel 6a) choose not to use Chrome for anything. We use Brave, and DuckDuckGo as the default search engine, along with the VPN provided by Goggle FI. Yet my wife’s phone often says that up to 10% of her battery usage was by Chrome (and at these times the phone is usually hotter to the touch than normal). I gather that Chrome is doing something in the background, but on my phone it is always 1% or less, and the phone doesn’t get hot. Can you help me understand why this is happening? Thanks in advance.
