Dominique from Denver, Colorado needs a smart speaker for her 80-year-old aunt, who has an iPhone. She wants a device her aunt can use to ask Siri to call 911 in case of an emergency.
However, the Apple Home Pod has a microphone and wouldn’t rely on the aunt’s iPhone’s microphone (which is the case for a regular Bluetooth speaker). The Home Pod is a great solution as it has an array of three built-in microphones. Plus, it wouldn’t have to be within earshot for the Siri commands to work.
After Dominique connects her aunt’s iPhone to the Apple Home Pod, Dominique’s aunt could say, “Hey, Siri, call 911,” or “Hey, Siri, call emergency services.” Once she says these words, Siri will use the aunt’s iPhone to complete the call.
