BitDefender safe, if headquartered in Romania?

      My wife and I just bought BitDefender for our two PCs. One of the factors to buy it was they have a VPN service, which we bought. I just listened to Kim Komando’s podcast today in which she said it’s not recommended to do Opera’s VPN because OPera is ultimately owned by and controlled by Communist China!. Just today I realized BitDefender is headquartered in Romania? Should I be nervous about that? They used to be a Communist regime. I don’t know anything about Romania but it makes me nervous they can see everything I do online, and maybe more. Can I trust them?

      Hello Gerald,

      I would not be concerned, I use BitDefender myself.
