I’ve had iPhones most of my adult life and am satisfied with them . . . but am open to something else if there’s some reason to do it.

My latest phone 7 Plus is getting a very weak battery. I am thinking I want to get a new phone vs. just replacing the battery (but I will replace my battery after getting the new phone and give it to a relative – it’s a good phone in good condition).

When should I buy? How can i be sure to get all my data/stuff (especially contacts – including my NOTES in the lower section) on to the new phone? I like the size of my 7 Plus – wouldn’t want to go smaller.

I saw the note from MAY where you advised to wait until fall to get a new phone . . . when will that be? Do we know precisely now?

Your insight and comments are appreciated.

      Hellos John,

The iPhone 12 is expected to September 2020, however with covid19 going on there could possibly be a delay. Apple has not provided an update to the expected September release date. You can also use iTunes to backup and restore all of your iPhone data to the new phone. Here you can find a tutorial from Apple on the process.
