I asked a real estate broker friend. I am in Texas. He said in Texas, at least, it is not as easy as the TV ads make it seem, to go and steal someone’s home title. It makes sense that it should not be an easy thing to do. But, some states allow squatters to claim a home, maybe some states would let some clown come in and take a title. I guess we all need to check with our individual state’s laws.

For all – Home Title Lock is a complete waste of money as is Norton LifeLock – totally unnecessary – the simplest and easiest way to secure yourself is to freeze your credit with all 3 credit bureaus – can easily be done on line and when/if you need to unlock your credit (like when applying for a loan or credit card) you can do that very easily on line – just remember afterwards to re-freeze your credit. I do it all the time.
