I purchased a “smart” bird feeder as a Christmas gift for my wife, but never could get it set up and returned it to Amazon. The problem was, the bird feeder camera works ONLY with 2.4 ghz wifi band. My Google Nest wifi is 5 ghz. As far as I can tell, there is no way to set the home wifi to 2.4 ghz, nor am I sure I would want to anyway. The Google Nest wifi is set up with three mesh points and works great; I wouldn’t want to sacrifice the performance of our home wifi system just to add a bird feeder. After returning the bird feeder, I stumbled on a YouTube video that shows how to create a 2.4 ghz mobile hotspot on my Android Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G phone. It sounds like that may be an option to get a new bird feeder to work, but before I order a new one, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found a good solution?
