I am a retired person looking for the best options for email and the other usual office functions such as word processing, spreadsheet, outlook and antiviruses protection. I am currently using gmail begrudgingly. The Microsoft options are expensive but loved the outlook features. What if any options out are free or low cost and trusted websites? I know you provided these options in the past but that was 10 years ago. What the latest?
In terms of office suite type programs, there are the 3 main options
Google Workspace – free, online
Office subscription – $100/yr for up to 6 people – if you have other friends or family that like microsoft products you can split the cost of this making it ~$17/yr per person
Libre office – free but no email client
Thunderbird – free email client
I want an email address for my banking, one for shopping and one for notices and information exchange. Is this possible? I have been using gmail and I’m absolutely overwhelmed by JUNK! I delete it and it’s right back the same day. This makes the whole process a nightmare for me. PLEASE HELP!
Nancy, try marking it as spam instead of deleting it. You can use your gmail to make different addresses using the + symbol. For example your email+bills@gmail.com or your email+notices@gmail.com and then you can set inbox rules to route them to different labels so you can see them all at once.
