I have about 4000 slides/photos up to 40 years old that I would like to convert to a digital format. I researched services that would do this for me but price tag even with the “discounts” is a couple thousand dollars. I have the time available to do this myself so I am looking for a machine that I can purchase/lease to do the conversion. Any recommendations?? Also, I have research the storage solution with DVD out and either a hard drive or thumb drive – which would be best?? I am looking at buying 2 so in the event of destruction of one I have a spare (yes,
I am aware I could use the cloud but 20+ years of identify theft issues has left very suspicious of any company that has my data). I really appreciate your help as looking at machines on line really does not give a feel for the output quality.

    Hello Michael Lein,

Epson has the product you are looking for, the Epson Perfection V600 photo, negative, slide scanner.

You can tap or click here to find it online. Additionally, it does work with Mac OS. If you do use a mac you need to download the app from the Epson website.

    I hope this helps!
