I use public wifi for email & web surfing, not for financial sites. Are mac’s less vulnerable to hacking of passwords, etc?

To ensure passwords and other data submitted on web forms is secure, the information needs to be encrypted. This has more to do with securing the connection, than the hardware you are running. A VPN encrypts all traffic, keeping anyone snooping on the connection from seeing what you are transmitting. This provides an extra layer of security, which is valuable when on public WiFi.
