I receive about 5 emails weekly requiring me to log in and update my personal information. I do not respond obviously and report fraud to the company always. But that doesn’t stop the emails.
So I looked on line to find an app that can keep me safe. I found Cyber Ghost 8. It is for minimal users like myself.
I’d like to know if you all use it or give me a option.
Thanks
Susan
Hi Susan,
If you are getting unwanted scam/spam emails, your email address has been exposed and most likely sold on the dark web. I tell my clients to abandon any email address that receives those emails. I also tell them to use separate email addresses for financial, shopping, other personal business, etc. and never use personal email addys for logging into any website or for personal business.
This won’t let me post the website, but if you search “Have I Been Pwned” you can check your email addy(s) to see if they have been expsoed.
Kim has posted the website link by Troy Hunt before.
J.C. thanks. I’m sure you’re right. I do have a GMAIL account that has not been affected. I’ll start using that one.
I did go to Kim’s site to find an anti virus and it took me to TOTALAV. When I downloaded the app I was warned that using that app could damage my computer. Which anti virus is best.
Thanks much.
Excellent!
Susan, share a screenshot of the warning if you can, I’m still using Kasperky , so I’m not sure what the Total AV install process looks like, but one of the team members here may recognize the screenshot to see if it’s familiar.
