I purchased a WD My Book external hard drive & saved my data from my Win 7 pc. When trying to set it up on my new Win10 pc it wouldn’t load. “No drivers available.” I spoke with WD; they want $199, saying it’s a coding/programming issue. Dell will help with software for $99. Which service would be more appropriate. My fear is losing my backup data as my old pc is dying.

      Hello Jmoore777,

I would first attempt using another USB cable followed by listening to the device once it is powered on, are you hearing any tapping or clicking? Does the drive spin up?

You can take a look here for steps on troubleshooting the device, run through the steps and let us know your findings.

You may very well have the remove the drive from the enclosure and use another means of accessing the data with a device such as this.

      Nice Jmoore777,

I’m glad to hear, which stem allowed you to access your drive again? Might be a good idea to get everything copied over to a new backup device as well.
