      Hello Gary,

Are you asking about alternatives or are you looking for the best settings to configure for each of these applications?

I’m asking about alternatives to them. I am new at this and not very tech savy. Thanks so much, Gary

      Hello Gary,

I would go with either Signal or Telegram.

Telegram is a messaging app with a focus on speed and security, it’s super-fast, simple and free. You can use Telegram on all your devices at the same time — your messages sync seamlessly across any number of your phones, tablets or computers. Telegram has over 500 million monthly active users and is one of the 10 most downloaded apps in the world.

Signal is a cross-platform centralized encrypted messaging service developed by the Signal Technology Foundation and Signal Messenger LLC. It uses the Internet to send one-to-one and group messages, which can include files, voice notes, images and videos.
