I need to format a larger sd card (128gb) to fat32. Can someone please tell me how to do it step by step? Not a geek! Need someone with the heart of a teacher. : D I have a 24 inch smart tv that I want to be able to view things from an sd card in a usb connected card reader. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

      Hello Janet W,

You can accomplish this by using Powershell in Windows, once you launch Powershell type the following command:

      format /FS:FAT32 X:

With X: being the letter of the disk you wish to convert, this can take a few hours depending on the size of the disk and how fast your computer is.

Thank you, John! These things are difficult when you don’t have a background. You have been a big help!

I tried to format the large 128 GB sdxc card, but when it finished with the PowerShell (Admin), the blue box said the volume was too big to convert EXFAT to FAT32. Isn’t there a way to do this? I went into my computer and granted permission for format.com (somehow related to PowerShell?) to be allowed to change things as it was in a “protected folder.” Have no idea if I’ve damaged anything or compromised security by doing this. Please help….And Thank You!
