Is there another way to restore apps on the Tab A then just doing a restore from a backup and then reinstalling all the apps? I do have it backed on my PC using Smart Switch and on Google but cannot get it to backup to Samsung Cloud – keep saying the app closed after putting in password. The issue is recently it is acting like there is some corruption – apps crashing, slower than usual, etc. I have run CCCleaner and Malewarebytes and have Norton AV running in background and none have found any problems. It is running Android v8 and do have a couple games that I really enjoy and don’t want to start from scratch if I have to do a factory reset and reinstall them all again. I am pretty competent with Windows & networking but not so much with Android. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

      Hello cbwhippet,

This is no easy task, but with enough patience, time and reading you should be able to get this done. First confirm weather or not the applications are available for the latest version of Android by installing the games on your newer phone. Then you will want to head over here for a write up on transferring the save game data to the new phone. You should be able to complete this task without paying for the premium version of the app.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks, John, greatly appreciated! Actually had to reset the Tab A w/Android v8 to factory defaults due corruption problem and restore it. Went to the Android Guys site and found the 3 methods. Unfortunately the Helium links were broke and the Mobikin program is $30-40, a bit much for my pallet to backup a couple of free games. Between the cloud backup method and Smart Switch I was able to retrieve all my data including the games with the exception of 1 but not a big deal. Thanks again!

      Chris
