  Linda from Rockingham, Virginia is a poet who works on a Mac computer. She uses the native Pages program for word processing. Much to her chagrin, she needs to make the switch to Word for her work.

  Another open-source software solution that is capable of exporting documents into .doc or .docx Word compatible files are. Libre Office and Open Office. Both of which are compatible with PC and Mac.
