  • IPHONE 12 WON’T BACKUP TO MY IMAC – Solved!

Posted by Sandy Landers on May 17, 2021 at 9:40 am

    Hi Kim,
I am using Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7. My new iPhone 12 IOS is 14.5.1.
My Mac HD has 1.03 TB and I currently have 283.41 GB of available space left.
I keep getting pop up messages to upgrade to BIG SUR. Should I upgrade to BIG SUR? Do I have enough storage to do that?
I believe that if I do install BIG SUR then my iPhone would be able to backup to my iMac. I’m also concerned that my Epson ET-4760 Printer and my Epson Perfection V550 Photo Scanner won’t work. Please, advise.
Thanks for any help you can give.
    Best wishes,
    Sandy Landers

    Hello Sandy,

If you are able, you definitely should upgrade to Big Sur, your devices are compatible. However you may need to tinker with the Epson Perfection V550, Epson has directions you can find here and they have also started offering a software solution for free you can tap or click here to see that information.

Once you have your operating system upgraded you can tap or click here to see how to backup your iPhone to your computer.
