After downloading thousands of music CDs managed with iTunes the songs randomly disappear from my hard drive. I have reloaded music numerous times. It has again happened.

Is there a setting in iTunes that I have missed?

Is there different app that I can use…we do have music transferred to our iPod and iPhone. Backup has not helped as it is only showing the current back up (iDrive).
