  • Kim Komando Text/SMS Alerts?

Is there any way to subscribe to text notifications from “The Kim Komando Show” or the Komando community for fraud alerts, new scams, etc., without downloading the app? I’m on a company smartphone and am not allowed to download any apps that aren’t related to my job, but I can get SMS messages.

As far as I know, Komando.com has no official way to get text alerts– but, there is a workaround. If you want text alerts for all articles published to the main site, you’ll need to use the RSS feed: https://www.komando.com/feed. The best way to get RSS updates from Komando.com to SMS involves getting email alerts for the Komando RSS feed sent to your carrier’s Email to SMS gateway. To do this, use blogtrottr.com (or a similar service) and input the aforementioned Komando.com RSS feed, https://www.komando.com/feed, and in the email box, input your phone number’s email to SMS gateway address. (Formula to determine this by carrier is found here- https://20somethingfinance.com/how-to-send-text-messages-sms-via-email-for-free/.) After you’ve followed these instructions, you’ll get a confirmation text straight to your phone. Once confirming, you’ll begin to receive Komando.com updates whenever new articles are posted. If you want to get updates on specific topic on the forum, click on that topic, make sure you change the link in the address bar to end in “/feed” and repeat the previous steps to receive text alerts. I hope this helped!
