I want to get a Macbook Pro 15 in to hopefully make it easier for me to do video editing from my Gopro videos to youtube, etc. How much memory and space is needed as a general rule? The one I am looking at is 16?, 16GB RAM, 512 GB storage, 2.6Ghz Intel Core i7

And do you suggest buying the extended service for $349 for 3 years?

    Hello Rob,

Great question, the fact alone of you opting for a MacBook Pro pretty much covers everything you will need for editing your Go Pro videos and then some. You will definitely want an i7 or above processor. The rule of thumb regarding CPU VS Memory is that you will benefit more from a faster CPU with a higher core count over adding more Memory. Splurging for the i9 processor in the MacBook Pro would be money well spent.

You will however want to get a large external hard disk drive or NVME Flash storage to keep everything backed up as you may find yourself running out of space with the 512GB of storage.
