Is there a way to look up who owns an email account? I am getting emails from someone and I think it is a scam.

You can try this with both an email address and headers: Search: “trace an email through headers”.

Most scammers either hack/phish an existing account to send out emails or they make up temporary email addresses.

You can also look up your own email address here to see if it was in a recent data breach where your email address was exposed and possibly sold on the dark web. Search: “Have I been pwned” (Troy Hunt) .
