I am going to install a Netgear AX12 (AX11000). I currently have a Spectrum modem with an older AX08 router, about 4-5 years old. I’ve been getting a lot of buffering with the older pieces and some strange out of focus on occasion. The two story home is about 3800 sq. ft. I have not had a problem with printers or lap tops up stairs. Would installing a Netgear modem make the system more seamless and or perform better overall with the newer nighthawk modem?

    Hello Gil,

I would start off by replacing the Cable Modem first if it is older than 2 years. I was unable to determine the make/model of the AX08 router So I can’t really say if replacing it with the newer hardware would make things better.

    Hello Gil,

Using a Netgear modem versus, using an Arris Modem really won’t make much of a difference other than having matching equipment.
