Is there an app available that I can install on my sons phone since he is a new driver that will not allow him to use his phone while driving?
Also I have an iPhone and my son has an android phone, is it possible to still share his location to my phone?

    Hi Amber!

To lock your son out of using his phone while driving, I’d recommend DriveSafeMode, (http://drivesafemode.com) since you have the option to receive alerts if he’s texting, Snapchatting, etc., or, since he’s on Android, you also can have his phone lock him out completely while driving. For cross-platform location sharing, Life360 (https://www.life360.com) would be a good choice. If you wanted to only track the car and see other information such as speed, you can try the Spytec STI GL300MA, (https://amzn.to/2HVHy8S) or for a tracker that plugs in to the OBD2 port for power and includes a year of service, the Vyncs GPS tracker may be a good investment. None of these options are completely free, but most are pretty low-cost.

Hope this has been of use to you!

Yes, Amber, I use Life360 on my Android phone, and I have a friend that uses it on her iPhone. We can both share our locations with each other, which we do often when the other is traveling on vacation.
