    I have been using PaperPort 14 for several years by Nuance. It locked up with the text box Reading :”PaperPort appears to be running Windows XP
    Compatibility Mode which may result in errors. We recommend disabling Compatibility Mode for the PaperPort.exe program, see Tech note 6629.

    Have you experienced other having problems with the same issue: When I click the OK button on text message box the program closes and I can’t access PaperPort. I have a year or more worth of PDF records stored in PaperPort on my computer. My last years company records and can’t access them. Is there away I can retrieve the records?

    I even tried on line searches and found a site called the Expert which gave some work around fixes but nothing worked , even tried loading PaperPort 14.5 which was reported to be the only app of PaperPort which would work on Windows 10.

    I am not much of a computer person knowing very little about internal workings of Windows files, can anyone offer any helpful suggestions?

    Hello Jet,

    I found some information on the issue here on Microsoft support, which links to this article explaining which registry entry you should remove.
