Red Dot on Messenger Hamburger Menu
I have a red dot showing in my messenger app on the hamburger menu and I can’t get rid of it. Can’t figure out how to attach a photo her so I copied and pasted but will it show? Please help!

What Make / Model phone are you using, this will help me find a solution for you. When you say Messenger is it your default Text messaging app or are you talking about Facebook Messenger?

Thank you John, I apologize for not including those details.
I am talking about Facebook messenger on my iPhone 15. It does not show when I access messenger through Facebook on a web browser.

Follow the dot, click on the hamburger menu with the dot, and look on the next page that opens for another red dot somewhere on that page. For instance, I have one that will never go away since I ignore Notifications and Sounds from FB Messenger.

Thank you John – I already did that before posting here. I’ve checked and just re-checked all categories which are: Chats (nothing with dot all the way back to Jan 2023), Marketplace, Message Requests, Archive, and then under More: Friend Requests, and Discover Channels. N dots in any of those categories. Was not like this yesterday or previously. And by the way, under the hamburger menu, there is no category titled notifications.
