Adrianne from Toledo, OH has a young teen who got around parental controls on his phone and set up a guest account to do what wants on the phone.

Here’s what to do:

1. Wipe the phone and then make the first user account their own account (Parent account, with a good screen lock password)

2. Disable the guest account and create a restricted profile account for the child. https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/3175031?hl=en

You can try parental control software but he’s getting too old for that. Plus, the kids know how to get around it. Make sure you have his passcode so you can check whenever you want.
