Just caved in to Samsung after years with BlackBerry.
Tried to send pictures (4) to a colleague by email.

The picture size = about 3000 x 4000 which is huge.

How do you reduce file size so pictures can be efficiently sent?

      Thank you

      Hi,

There are going to be a few ways to do this, and it’ll depend a bit on what exactly you’re trying to do. To send the original full-sized photos, I’m guessing you’re running into problems with email’s 25MB total file size limit. So, to make sure your colleague gets the original photos with no degradation or compression, I recommend https://WeTransfer.com. All you need to do is upload the images to their website, type your name, your email address, and the email address of your colleague, and the email will be on it’s way. You don’t even need to sign up for an account. WeTransfer will let you send up to 2GB of files per email, which will be plenty to send your 4 photos. The reason this works, even though they’re technically still emailing the recipient is because WeTransfer stores these files on their server and just emails the download link to those files to whoever you’re intending to get them. For this method, just remember the files have to be downloaded by the recipient within seven days after they’re sent. This method will probably work best for you since as I mentioned, you don’t have to downgrade image quality.

Another way of doing this is to reduce the size of the original images, which you mentioned in your original posting. A great resource to get this accomplished is https://compressor.io. This tool can very efficiently compress images without loosing much clarity.

If you’re just looking to downgrade image quality, and therefore size, to get these pictures sent, you can use a website that’s been a favorite of mine for quite some time: https://picresize.com. Simply upload the photos one at a time, and scroll down until you see “Resize Your Picture”. Select from the dropdown how much smaller you want the filesize, or enter a custom resolution. After that, hit “I’m Done, Resize My Picture!” and download it.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
