I have been unable to verify my email address for the Apple ID setting for years. It is my Gmail address, which is what I use for my Apple account, but it will not accept the code that is sent to that email address. I have even gone to the Apple story, the staff was an incorrect nickname. They just told me that that could not happen, so I show them. They watch what happened then told me that what happened could not happen. Help.
Hello David,
Might you have any other apple devices currently logged into your account? Please try going through the motions again but this time Click Didn’t get a verification code when trying to verify.
Choose to have the code sent to your trusted phone number.
You’ll get a text message or phone call from Apple with your verification code if you had previously linked your cell phone.
From what device are you trying to verify? And what is the exact message you receive when trying to use the code emailed to you?
Do you have any purchases connected to this apple id? Would it be possible to backup all of your data and ditch this problematic account?
Follow up, is the date and time correct on your device you are trying to verify from?
Team,
I have tried 100’s of times to follow the normal protocol and get the reply “Cannot Verify Email. This email address is not available. Choose a different address.” How do I cancel my current Apple account and start a new apple account?
Hello David,
You might want to try this solution that has worked for others. Go to appleid.apple.com, edit & disable the two-factor authentication in security. Sign out from iCloud in phone and re-login.
Were you able to confirm your time and date settings on your devices?
How to delete an Apple account permanently.
How to configure a new Apple account.
hey David,
I’m assuming that you’ve started here: iforgot.apple.com
I worked in an enterprise recently and since Corporate didn’t require employees to use their corp email…and create a company-attached Apple ID.
This was always my starting point…to confirm if an email address was being used…and then the recovery of that Apple ID if possible
Good Luck@
