user ids and passwords
Having a big problem with login to my yahoo mail account (which I’ve had for 10+ years). Can someone explain how user ids and passwords are “connected”?
ATT tech support hasn’t been any help: 1) Shouldn’t they be able to tell me what password is associated with my user id?; and 2) it seems there is a problem with my userid “keeping” my password – even after I use “forgot password” to get my password changed, it only works once – the next time that new password doesn’t work again – very frustrating.

This sounds like you may have a saved password in your web browser, I would start off troubleshooting by resetting your password again from a new web browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox
Once you are logged in to your Yahoo account, do not save your password in your web browser. Close the browser and attempt logging in again, if you are successful then now you can save your password in the browser if you please.
If that is successful, then you will need to clear out old saved passwords form your original web browser, if you let me know what that is I can direct you on clearing the old saved password.
