I’m looking for wired video doorbells that can record locally to an NVR and use an existing chime. The existing chime isn’t a dealbreaker but would be nice since I already have it. Possibly add a couple of wired solar-powered cameras that would also record to the NVR. Do not want a subscription or cloud-based service. I think Lorex or Reolink offers local recording, but to an SD card inside the camera, which seems a little too easy for someone to steal. If I have to opt for the SD card feature, is it accessible through an app for viewing? I’d appreciate any help with this.

    Hello D parham,

Take a look at Eufy, they do not require a subscription and your videos can be automatically saved to the Home Base, tap or click here to see the 2 camera kit with solar panels and the Home base / NVR, then tap or click here for the recommended wired doorbell which will trigger your existing chime.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
