We received a notice from Straight Talk that our current home phone is not compatible with the transition to VoLTE. Is this a ploy to get us to buy a new phone from ST? I looked online for VoLTE capable fixed phones but can’t seem to find a fixed cordless (answering machine w one cordless handset) model phone that is VoLTE capable. Do they even make them any more?

      Thanks,
      GD

      Hello Bill,

Straight Talk is a cell phone carrier, I’m going to need a little more information regarding the “fixed Cordless” aspect of you question. Straight Talk is requiring that customers upgrade to a Cell phone that is capable of VoLTE by no specified date.

If you are interested in connecting your cell phone to a cordless phone for use in your home, you can take a look at what Panasonic has to offer. These cordless phones are capable of connecting to your cell phone via Bluetooth.

You can find a list of compatible VoLTE phones here.

I hope that helps you out

Thanks for responding, John. What I mean by fixed phone is one that is physically connected to the ST Home Phone Base Station. Our phone has a multiple cordless phones in charger bases located throughout our home. This type of phone is what we’re looking for, but can’t find any that are VoLTE capable. What we have is similar to the VTech CS6529-4 DECT 6.0 Phone Answering System with Caller ID/Call Waiting, 4 Cordless Handsets, Silver/Black.

      Hello Bill,

I was unable to find a replacement that is VoLTE compatible. I was in chat with support asking if they offered a VoLTE replacement and from the limited information I could provide they stated the existing device would still be supported. If you can StraightTalk support you can provide your plan information and they will be better to advise you on what to do. Click contact us at the bottom of the page and use the live chat feature to ask them.

      I hope that helps.
