Marci from Mission, Texas has a whopping 5,000 pictures on her work computer. She doesn’t want to lose them all when she retires, so she called asking for tips on transferring and saving them.

If you find yourself in a similar position and need to quickly back up your pictures, I recommend Google Photos. You get 15GB of free storage. Tap or click here for 20 of the service’s coolest features.

However, Marci’s 5,000 photos will take up about 30GB, which means she needs a bigger storage solution. I pointed her towards Amazon Photos, which gives Prime customers unlimited full-resolution photo storage. (To make the deal sweeter, you also get 5GB of video storage.)

To make sure no pictures get lost in the transfer, I also told her to back up her pictures on a thumb drive. One of my favorites is the SanDisk Cruzer USB Flash Drive. You can buy five different storage sizes, from 16GB to a whopping 256GB. For her needs, I recommend the 64GB option, just to be on the safe side.
