What was your first computer?

I was stationed at Schofield Barracks, HI, but living in Westloch Estates, near Ewa Beach. 1996. I was a senior Captain, in the Army. The internet was just starting. My Army assistant had a Mac for sale. It was an Apple Mac lc ii. It was dial-up and it was so slow. But, I loved every second of it! I surfed like crazy. I got into IRC groups and message boards. The Cowboys were still contenders. I went to the team site. There was an animation of Troy Aikman handing the ball to Emmitt Smith. It was so slow, that when Troy turned to hand the ball, it was only the top half of his body and the top half of Smith’s body moved forward to take the ball, before their lower bodies caught ypI have owned nothing but Macs, ever since.

Tandy Color Computer 2 (COCO) 4mb RAM, with tape drive and 8pin dot matrix printer that cost a fortune to replace the ribbon. I think I bought it in 1983. purchased with monthly payments. It cost nearly a month’s wages.

Mine was an Osborne I it only had a 40 character screen used mostly for word processing and spread sheets
