On Kim’s XMAS show, I heard her say, (briefly), that some manufacturer, had put a microphone, in their smart-thermostat — if so, this would be a HUGE privacy-issue ! — Did they inform their customer-base, about that ? — It would seem, like a sue-able issue !
Someone should bring, a class-action suit .
I got an old (2019) article, that said, it was “Nest”, but how would a user find-out if the microphone was on, all of the time ?
???
I know that my Ecobee smart thermostat has both a microphone and a speaker. I can tell it to raise or lower the temperature without leaving my chair. But then I can do the same thing with my Google Home device and my Amazon Echo. They are all listening all the time. That’s what they are for.
