  Why get a data plan when I can tether?

  I have an unlimited Magenta plan from T-Mobile. Lately my wife has been in the hospital a lot and I have been tethering my iPad to my iPhone 14 Pro while I’m in her room. I am looking at getting a new iPad mini 7 but I can’t justify and additional $150 for cellular connectivity plus $20/month data plan when I have been happy with the performance I get tethering. Am I missing some justification to spend the extra $$$?
