      @no. one

      My Laptop which I bought dec 2017, quit working dec. 2020 afterallowing it to install the latest update then shut itself down. Thats when my problems started. this is a HP envy X 360/i7 processor.
      I have since taken it to Best Buy Geek Squad 8 times, they have replaced the hard drive and after about a week each time they say it ran fine all night for them, but when I get it home it runs about 15 or 20 min. and there is the all to familiar blue screen with the message ” uncorrectable error” Now they ” Best Buy Geek Squad” tells me that I must have a hard ware issue and they have to send it out to there shop out of state, and it could cost as mush as $900 if its the mother board. Help! I get your free letters all the time, sometimes I have time to read them sometimes not. I now signed up for a free trial subscription to your club ” community”,. I seem to remember a while back you mentioning something about faulty updates causing blue screen freeze ups.. I need to know if you can tell me how to reach Windows support about their updates or how to get tech support from HP?Need help call me totally frustrated.

      Hello Louis,

      Indeed you are on the right path, it looks to be caused by a windows update. I would first make sure you are current with your Windows 10 updates. Then I would see if the issue is still happening, if so then I would start working on removing update KB4556799 as it has been wreaking havoc on multiple machines including yours.

      Forbes article on the issue.
      HP forum thread.

      Get that update removed and possibly install the latest version of your wireless driver directly from HP which has this note below in its latest version.

      – Fixes an issue that causes a blue screen event to occur.
