Might you know when or where you heard this?

It was a year-or-two-or-three, ago, from a Kim Komando article or e-mail, which no-longer seems to be searchable, on the site .
The class of software, in question, involves “logging”, although I can find no specifics .
For example, Firefox [the iOS-version] uses it .

I never understood “shortened” URLs, of which, I think,this one ISN’T — the “.io” domain-extension appears to place this, somewhere in the Indian Ocean ?
