      Hello Larry,

Could you elaborate on what you are trying to do, generally speaking, when you plug in a Zip drive such as a firewire or USB one? All you need is a driver to allow the computer to interface with the drive. If you can provide your make and mode I can further assist.

I have a ZIP 100, P/N DDXZ100P2 and originally connected to a computer parallel (printer) port. I have a parallel to USB adapter to connect it to my Lenovo T540p laptop running windows 11 Pro. I have the install disk, a 3 1/2 inch floppy disk dated NOV 1996 for DOS/WIN95 5.20. I tried using a 3 1/2 inch disk drive connected by USB to load the program but the disk drive was not recognized.
I connected the disk drive to a Toshiba Satellite running WIN XP and could use the 3 1/2 inch disk drive but it could not load the ZIP 100 install disk.

      Hello Larry,

Unfortunately windows 11 does not have a driver to support the Zip Drive.

Using the Toshiba Satellite paired with the USB to Parallel may not be possible as stated here.

Your best bet would be to purchase or borrow an old Windows XP workstation with a parallel port to transfer your data.

You can find the Parallel port driver for windows XP here.
