Hello Robert,

My recommendation on making a backup and then upgrading your current Windows 7 box was to verify weather or not the apps will continue to work in Windows 10. However you can try to use the PC Mover program to see if it will do everything you are expecting, however I am not expecting it to copy over Works as it is an older program.

If you let us know which versions of Quicken, Works and Excel you are using we can determine if the are compatible with Windows 10.

If you are interested in Virtualizing your existing windows 7 machine so you can run it in a Hyper-V on your new Windows 10 computer you can take a look at how to accomplish this task here. You can also watch someone accomplish this task on Youtube, keep in mind when he starts using Hyper-V you should be doing that on the new computer as he is doing everything on the same computer.
