Norman- I appreciate your very helpful reply. Yes, I intend to use the old- Win-7 PC as my “backup”. Since the original post I’ve purchased a Dell and used PC Mover to transfer my programs and files. Worked perfectly. I found all my old Win-7 programs worked fine but then I ran into a series of “BSOD” that caused me to spend multiple hours with Dell support from India. Not ideal communications. The result, after 3 weeks and multiple “BSOD” screens was to return the Dell. The Dell folks just could not diagnose or fix the problem- even reinstalling Win-10 pro did not work. I suppose it must be something hardware related. Again, Thanks for your contribution.
