  What is the best way to back up my Mac? Should I renew Carbonite, switch to iDrive, use Mac’s Time Machine or use iCloud? Thanks, in advance.

  You should always have a local backup in place, if you have an external USB drive you can rely on either Time Machine or iDrive backup. Second, you should have an off-site backup for your data as well, here iDrive would be your best solution given the amount of storage they offer with the base plan.
