August 2, 2020 at 10:52 am #44019 KimKomandoKeymaster @KimKomando Hello there! The Li-Ion battery does not have any memory issues any longer but there is a limit on the number of cycles. Knowing how many charge cycles your battery has and how many are left can help you determine when a battery replacement is required. Follow these steps to access information about your Mac notebook battery, including its cycle count: Hold the Option key and click the Apple menu. Choose System Information. Under the Hardware section of the System Information window, select Power. The current cycle count is listed under the Battery Information section. It’s best not to leave your MacBook plugged in all the time because of the limited number of cycles. Hope this helps, Kim 🙂 August 3, 2020 at 11:13 pm #44200 ronnegoParticipant @ronnego What specifically about watching a 2-3 hour movie. Is it better to have it plugged in or unplugged? Or does it matter at all? August 4, 2020 at 1:27 pm #44202 KimKomandoKeymaster @KimKomando Hi there, When your Macbook is plugged in, it will be warmer. It’s charging the battery while running the laptop. So for heat’s sake (not Pete!), I would run it off the battery while watching a movie.
