Tagged: lost text messages
Hello, I am a bit heartbroken, because the entire text thread with my mom (Kim’s Digital Goddess in Training) was deleted from my phone this morning. I don’t know what happened. Screen displayed a couple of threads with check marks, and I tried to cancel, but threads were deleted. Texts not backed up to cloud because it took too much storage. Is there any way to get this text thread back? Thank you for anything you can do to help.
Karey
Hi Karey,
Oh dear. :/
Can you tell us more about your phone, OS, etc.?
Hi Kim,
iPhone 7, 14.1, Xfinity mobile
p.s. Medical Guardian update: My mom fell on 10/28, and unfortunately broke her femur requiring surgery. The first thing she did was push the button, and they answered instantaneously! She used the device before she even called for her caregiver. Many thanks for this recommendation. I hope your mom is doing well, too 🙂
Hi Karey,
I am so very happy to hear that Medical Guardian was there for your mother and hopefully, she is healing as quickly as possible. And thank you for asking, you’re always such a sweet person, about my mom. She is doing very well. 🙂
Does your mother use an iPhone too by chance?
I have asked John, our Wizard IT Guy, to come up with any solutions too!
Hi Kim,
Yes my mom has an iphone 7.
While I await “Wizard John,” I will check my mom’s icloud account.
You are so kind to stay with me on this one 🙂
Hello Karey,
Sorry to hear you have lost your conversation, backup your data as frequently as possible to avoid this in the future. You may however have some options for recovering.
You could attempt to recover the conversation from any of your other Apple devices if you were using iMessages on any of your devices other than your phone. Take a look here to see how you can transfer messages between devices.
Lastly you could have your mother forward over the entire conversation from her end for you to keep in an email, Google Doc, or Office 365 Doc for future reference. Click or tap here to see how she can do this.
I hope this helps you, come back and let us know if either of these solutions worked!
