I gave my husband an original KOMANDO TAB for his 85th birthday which he enjoyed using. The only thing he does on it is to play his Poker games while watching TV in the evenings. After using it the other night, I charged it up for him and the next evening it wouldn’t turn on. He was very unhappy and disappointed. It’s completely unusable. I would like to replace it with something to keep him entertained when he gets bored. I have an Air2 iPad and I’m considering getting a newer one for myself and maybe giving him my old iPad. Please, advise.
      Thanks,

      Hi Sandy,

I am so happy he has enjoyed using it for the last 5 years. Unfortunately, we stopped selling them years ago. But we still might be able to help. Leave Amber L. a note here: https://www.komando.com/contact-us/customer-service/

I like the idea of giving him his own iPad. You can set it up for him to make it easy.

Keep in mind that there are free apps that offer in-app purchases. You can disable the in-app purchases in your iPad’s Settings. The steps are here: https://www.komando.com/family/set-up-parental-controls/711471/

      Some popular poker apps are:

Let us know how else we can help!

Thanks Kim for getting back to me. Sorry to hear that your tablet is no longer available.
I did send a message off the Amber.as you suggested. If I end up giving him my old iPad then I need to decide which one I should get for me. I would want one with an external cover/keyboard too. I’m open for suggestions as well.
      Thanks,
      Sandy

      Hi Sandy,

Apple has a new iPad Pro specifically designed to turn an iPad into a laptop. It is especially expensive, starts at $799. https://www.apple.com/ipad-pro/

For something more wallet-friendly, the new iPad with a larger 10.2โ€‘inch Retina display and support for the full-size Smart Keyboard starts at $329. https://www.apple.com/ipad-10.2/ I think this is a good bet for you!
