    Hi Patrick,

It might be a little hard to find a disk, as even most box stores just sell the key and not hard copies.

What problem did you encounter? Did the download just stop? You might just need to try from another connection.

I updated my 2nd computer, it had the update which was a problem and hid all icons etc…..Said:w to do it:
Click the Start button and select Settings. Go to Update & Security, then Recovery.
Under Go back to the previous version of Windows 10, choose Get started.
Followed instructions, but as Kim said if over 10 days could not go back. Is there any other way I can get it restored before this disaster??? I have over 6000 pictures but numerous important files I cannot find nor have access to…Any ideas because so far Microsoft does not have a fix

Sorry to hear that Steve. Here is something you can try:

Also, check under C:\Users to see if multiple user profiles are listed. Your files may be under another profile.

Nothing works, all caused by that update to windows 10, that Kim Komando said may hide/delete everything, don’t know what to do, had some important stuff and now I am very leery of any windows 10 update. From the site you sent me to also said stuff to do for windows 7, this computer was windows 10 from day 1, and was a very good running computer. I am really getting to hate windows based computers, but thanks for offering the suggestions.

You should check out https://windirstat.net this program will scan your entire disk for the files housed on it and will sort by data type on the right. You might possibly be able to use this to locate your missing files. Additionally you may want to browse through c:\windows.old if that folder exists your data may be in there.

My hard drive crashed and the tech installed Windows 10 on the new drive. I absolutely despise the picture program. I want to store pictures in my folders alphabetically, and Windows 10 doesn’t seem to offer that. It appears that I can only store them by date. I have an eBay store, and have thousands of pictures to manage. The name or part number is my way to sort and manage them. Is there any help for me?

I think using Adobe Bridge would suit you best, it is still free program with Adobe Creative cloud. – https://www.adobe.com/products/bridge.html

Try two things. Search YouTube for an answer, or right click on pic, then click on program to open, and scroll down to Windows Photos.

    Hello Holly,

You really should take advantage of upgrading to Windows 10, as you are a windows 8.1 user you are entitled to the free upgrade. The Windows 10 Operating system is not part of Office 365, Office 365 is the Microsoft Software Suite of Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

Here is a comprehensive guide to creating Windows 10 upgrade media, before performing the upgrade be sure to backup all important information to an external hard drive.

Best of luck, hope that helps!
