In my hospital work these days, I’ve started using Dragon speak in my Powerchart notes and this visual dictation system is wonderful and a time saver for my charting. What happens to the audio files once the content is embedded in the patient’s electronic medical record? I’m not sure if they are stored or not. If the audio component is stored, how do I make sure these audiofiles are not re-accessed? And do I have a right to this content or have I ‘donated’ it to the employer hospital? Just curious.
