Regarding the BCC aspect of not receiving what you sent, be sure to check “All Mail” as gmail will sometimes not show you these emails sent to yourself.

To prevent clutter, Gmail doesn’t route messages that you send to your own alias (or to a group you belong to) to your inbox. You can find the message in Sent Mail or All Mail.
Now that you have received your test that you sent to gwsmith@gmail.com you can get a copy of the original message headers, and run them through an analyzer to get some more information Microsoft has one as does mailheader.org. If you would like assistance analyzing the original message header you can send it to me in a private message.
