My laptop battery is never left to “die”, so that is not an issue.
I’ve done all that you recommended (nothing has ever changed from where I had set it.) I have reset the power options to default, with no change. Sometimes I will find that Hibernate starts working for no apparent reason, and then “breaks” again on the next Windows Update.
